As a co-host and designer of the Spring 2016 UNCG Threads Fashion show, I designed a capsule consisting of six pieces inspired by red nebulas.
The "Tail of the Phoenix" features a printed lycra leotard with a plunging neck line and open back. The detachable train features tulle ruffles down the back and a decorative buckle fastener at the belt. The model chose to wear sheer tights for modesty.

"The Wanderer" features a sleeveless top with origami fabric manipulation at the center front and tailored trousers. The back of the top is open except for a small fastening at the center neck. The red linen fabric features art work co-created by myself and artist Hannah Dodson.
The "Duchess of the Nebula" features a long elegant gown with a plunging neckline. The skirt of the gown features a mermaid silhouette with a flounced sparkle tulle bottom piecing.
The "Stellar Evolution" features a long close-fitting gown with a v-neck neckline and a train. The inside of the gown is lined with red which is displayed at the thigh-high split on the skirt of the gown.
The "Star of the Galaxy" features a fitted jumper with a princess seam top and close-fitted pants. The princess seam top features a standing collar, a key-hole opening at the center front, an open back, and triangle-shaped cutouts at the waist that wrap to the back. The top is attached to the pants by a waistband.
The "Interstellar Cloud" features a bralette and a high-waisted circle skirt. The bralette features straps that wrap around to the back, a key-hole opening at the center front, and a contrast bra band. The skirt features an elastic waistband and flounced sheer tulle with a contrast lining.
The "Little Snow" features a strapless top with a circle skirt. The strapless top features a lace overlay and princess seams. The circle skirt features a hem binding and a waistband.
The "Envy" features a crop top and a high-waisted pencil skirt. The crop top features a mesh panel, a lace overlay, princess seams, and a lace hem. The high-waisted pencil skirt features a waistband, darts at the waist, and a tulle train.
The "Hunter" features a open front vest and loose fitting trousers. The vest features a long silhouette and neck and armhole facings. The trousers feature a detached waistband.
The "In Swan Form" features a crop top with a high-waisted circle skirt. The crop top features a heart-shaped neckline, shoulder straps, and a gold binding at the hem. The circle skirt features a contrast detached waistband, and a faux feather trim at the hem.
The "Prince" features an open-front vest and loose-fitting trousers. The vest features a contrast lining and neck and arm hole facings. The trousers feature a contrast waistband.
The "Peacock" was designed to represent the Blue Zoom Advertising company. The gown features a mermaid silhouette, an off-shoulder neck line, princess seams, and a pleated skirt with an LED lit train.

The "Seductress" was designed for Woodruff Family Law Group. The top of the gown features a mesh upper piecing above the heart-shaped neckline, banded side openings, and princess seams. The skirt of the gown features a wrapped around silhouette, a slit at the front, and a train at the back. The skirt is attached to the top by a contrast waistband. The outfit also features faux leather leggings designed for modesty.
